Public Schools Leader

When schools were all closed after Katrina, Carlos spearheaded bringing families and children back to the city by gathering school community stakeholders to launch one of the first schools to open in January 2006.  He united a diverse community, helped identify common goals, and put them into action, which is why he was chosen to be the Founding Board Chair.
